Alassane Ouattara: "I give ECOWAS one of the best sons of Côte d'Ivoire"

Until then Ivorian Minister of Industry and Mines, Dr Kassi Jean Claude Brou has been appointed President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for a term of four years from of 1er March 2018.

"(...) I had the opportunity to tell the heads of state (...), I wanted to give ECOWAS one of our best, one of the best sons of Côte d'Ivoire. Jean Claude, considering your experience, your professional and personal qualities, I am convinced that you will be able to fulfill with great success your new duties and honor Côte d'Ivoire. I do not doubt it. ".

It is by these words that the Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara paid tribute, this January 10 to the Council of Ministers, Jean Claude Brou, his Minister of Industry and Mines designated the 16 last December at the head of the ECOWAS Commission by the Heads of State of the region.

The man who has just completed 5 years of continuous presence in the government (he was appointed Minister of Industry in November 2012 before being also entrusted with the portfolio of Mines in July 2013) will hang for 1er next March in Abuja in Nigeria.

Advisor Alassane Ouattara when he occupied the prime minister in the early 1990, Jean Claude was also chief of staff of Daniel Kablan Duncan then prime minister under the former head of state Henri Konan Bédié. The economics doctor, a former lecturer at the University of Cincinnati (USA), has held senior positions at the IMF, BCEAO and the World Bank.
